Our mission is to empower the next generation of young black equestrians, jockeys, and trainers.
We accomplish this goal by educating on the legacy of African-Americans in thoroughbred racing, specifically highlighting that history within the Kentucky Derby.
We use fashion and style to spotlight the immense contributions of Black Jockeys and curate Kentucky Derby themed events to fund scholarship opportunities for inner-city youth to participate in equestrian sports and activities. We also support local financial literacy training and college readiness programming for families in low-income communities.
We believe that the legendary stories of Black Jockeys have the power to inspire and motivate youth to take ownership of their lives, dream big and work hard to be the best that they can be. We harness their historic achievements to promote reading, a commitment to life-long learning, and a greater sense of self-efficacy.
